Online marketing workshop number 2 on 21st January 2010
We had our second online marketing workshop in Chippenham last Thursday. All but one of the attendees were Farm Stay members and we had a great workshop as you can see from the photo.
Everyone was really enthusiastic with lots of shared learning and experiences! I just read that Google is going to take into account site speed as part of its site ranking algorithm and that they've made available a link in Google Webmaster tools to help with that. I'll check it out and keep you posted. In the meantime I'm very keen to hear people's views on online booking and online channels of distribution following our discussion with Teresa from Visit Wiltshire.
Hi Phiip, well I have been really busy BUT did find some time to do a few tweaks as you suggested on the brilliant course last month. GUESS WHAT???!!! Our website has been graded from a starting point of 21% marketing effectiveness to 27% during the actual day of the course....to 50% effectiveness as of today...and that's without the additional stuff I am going to be doing. So a huge thanks for getting me on the right track...can't wait for the next seminar on social network marketing stuff. Also toaday I took your advice on the Google map stuff so hopefully will be listed on that for free as well. Google analytics now keep us informed about our bounce rate and where our hits are coming from...really useful when placing the marketing and advertsing spend. Thanks!!From Deborah Sheppard - Poulton Grange. 50%!!!
Thanks Deborah and delighted to hear about your success! I will have a chat with Anna about a social media course. Don't forget when you post comments on a blog such as this to put your URL - creates another backlink.
